How to Get Thornblade in Aniimo
Catch a wild Thornblade in the Sea of Flowers, or evolve one Budsquire. Evolution is Aniimo level 27, a party that contains only that Budsquire when it defeats a Thornblade, then one Sprout Stone. One Flux Crystal can replace that stone. The Thornblades in the Budsquire-hut quest cannot be caught. Towerwood Thornblade is a separate catch in Rosetower Woods.
Catch a Basic Thornblade
- Go to the Sea of Flowers in Breezy Plains. Map listings put flower-region Thornblade around levels 18–29. Rosetower Woods is the later band, about 43–51.
- Skip the Budsquire-hut quest pack. Screen Hype says that fight is four Thornblades you defeat, and those four cannot be caught. Catch a world spawn on the same slope after the quest.
- The earliest world spawn Game8 and AllThingsHow both describe is burrowed beside a chest, with three Budsquires on guard. Screen Hype puts the basic pair in the dip below the Budsquire house at -0248, 0755, and says two can be up together. GameRant’s tested pin is the lone tree on the small hill west of the broken tower, at -0279, 0762: fast travel to Sea of Flowers, go west through the broken tower, then look west. Those guides treat sunny weather as the basic-form window. If the spot is empty, fast-travel away and advance the time of day. Time control unlocks during the Ceremony Preparations main quest.
- Aniicodex’s client table (build 25828794) lists a 25% baseline catch on an unaware Thornblade with a plain Aniipod. A break, or a throw from behind, is 1.5× on that table, and AllThingsHow notes that it sleeps at night, which is the easy back hit. Aniipod Ultra always catches on that table. If you knock it out before the throw, leave the area and advance time so it can return.
Thunderstorm, Prismana, and Towerwood
- Thunderstorm Thornblade is the Sea of Flowers in rain or a thunderstorm. One spawn for that weather window, and catching or defeating it blocks another until the next window. Open the map and wait for the blue special-spawn icon. Screen Hype puts it outside the Budsquire hut at -0227, 0737. AllThingsHow puts a rain spawn at the ruined windmill house around -0714, 0604: teleport to the nearest waypoint, climb the tiled roof over the doorway, and throw down into the entrance. Use whichever pin matches the icon on your map.
- Prismana Thornblade needs a Prismana Flow in the Sea of Flowers after you nurture the nearby Bloom. Screen Hype uses the hut coordinates -0227, 0737, one spawn per flow. Start another flow if you need a second.
- Towerwood Thornblade is Rosetower Woods at any time. Screen Hype’s castle-ruin pin is 0500, 0804, with more along the southeastern edge of the region and on the east side of the tower on the hill. The lone Towerwood in the Maze of Thorns at 0561, 0745 is the clean solo target for the evolution fight. GameRant and AllThingsHow both publish that pin.
Evolve a Budsquire
- Catch the Budsquire you mean to evolve. Basic Budsquire is in the Sea of Flowers. Towerwood Budsquire is only in Rosetower Woods. A flower-region Budsquire does not become Towerwood Thornblade.
- Raise that Budsquire to Aniimo level 27. The kill credit sticks to that one creature. It does not open the branch for every Budsquire you own.
- Take every other Aniimo out of the party. The roster has to be that Budsquire alone. GameRant’s test used a Basic Form Budsquire for the basic evolution.
- Defeat a Thornblade with that Budsquire. Do not catch the target. A successful Aniipod throw voids the credit. Any Thornblade form counts. Prefer the lone Maze of Thorns Towerwood at 0561, 0745 so you are not also fighting the Budsquires that follow most other Thornblades. When the solo kill registers, a popup on the left reads “a remarkable change is about to happen.”
- For the Towerwood result, the evolution row also requires you to be in Rosetower Woods. The basic branch does not add that place check.
- Evolve from the Aniimo menu and spend one Sprout Stone. One Flux Crystal replaces that stone. Sprout Stones drop from Alpha Aniimo; AllThingsHow names Alpha Leafy. The other level-27 branch is Melloblum: complete Journey: Flowers and Thorns, a personality that contains Faithful, one Sprout Stone, and one Stamen of Cubbo’s Rose. One Budsquire becomes one of those two, not both.
Custom Box egg
After 10 levels of Elite Training, GameRant says the reward is a Custom Box - DPS Chest in Inventory, under Common Items. Open it once and pick one egg: Thornblade, Sherro, or Scorchhowl. The other two eggs are covered in how to get Sherro and how to get Scorchhowl. The Thornblade item is labeled a Shining Thornblade Egg. Game8 and AllThingsHow both say that label is a translation error and the hatch is Perfect Potential, not a Sparkling. A Sparkling Cube on a wild catch is the guaranteed Sparkling method those pages describe. Wild Sparkling odds on the AllThingsHow page are 1 in 20,000.
Can you catch the Thornblades in the Budsquire quest?
No. Screen Hype says the four by the hut are a quest fight. Catch a later world spawn on the same slope, at the chest, or at the lone tree west of the broken tower.
Where is Towerwood Thornblade?
Rosetower Woods, in the higher level band. Screen Hype’s main cluster is the castle ruins at 0500, 0804. The solo Maze of Thorns spawn is 0561, 0745. Evolving a Towerwood Budsquire into that form also has to be done in Rosetower Woods.
